H&D.C.A Highlights (taken from the minutes):

A list of Evening Wardens, Office helpers and Kitchen helpers was made:

Monday: Dave Grant / Archie Blandford
Tuesday: Mike Breton / Hugh Dawson.
Wednesday: Jack Armitage.
Thursday: Ray Knieriem.
Friday: Ray White / Neil Tisdale.

Office Helpers included: Rene Crain (Mon), Paddie Bently (Mon), Sheila Jary (Tues), Edith Pottinger (Tues), Joan ball (Wed), Cecily Versey (Wed), Margaret Legate (Thurs), Christine Foley (Thurs) and Anne Jarman (Fri)

Kitchen Helpers included: Mrs Sharpe, Mrs Samway (Mon & Wed), Joyce Armitage, Kathy Webb (Thurs), Mrs Lewis, Mrs Gibson (Tues Pm), Doreen Smith (Fri), Mrs Eldridge (Thurs Pm), Sue Barton, Jean Seamark (Fri), Jenny Bell (Tues evening) and Olwen Peake.

  1.  The "Playschool"s Hiring charge dropped from £5 to £4 per session.
  2. Members of 20 groups attended the "Users group meeting" in January.
  3. The secretary resigned so minutes of meeting weren't recorded until Ray White took up the task. It's thanks to him that any history of that year is kept.
  4. The Office was expanded to include Room C.
  5. The "Inn Centre" became its own room.
  6. Wilson Hall (Hall 1) had new lighting and would have new carpet and curtains.
  7. Kitchen cupboard units were installed. A new freezer and microwave were being considered (again).
  8. Photocopier price would increase for 3p and 5p respectively.
  9. A "safety" light was to be put on the "porch".
  10. Chess and Mah jong clubs were formed.
  11. A new / Revised constitution was to be put forward. This included having 3 meetings for the "Group user" per year.
  12. The N.F.D.C "local presence"- expanded to include room d1 and d2 on a permanent basis and Room B on Tuesday mornings, following this unscheduled change, it would be charged an extra £97.83 for the last six weeks of it's 2nd 4 month hiring. At the start of the final 3rd, the price would increase to £332.61 until 31st of March 1987. Then it's return to payments every six months amounting to £900 / year (April 1987 to March 1988). The "Hythe Marina Project Liaison Officer" - Mr David Mills,  moved from room D1 to Room D2.
  13. The Xmas closure would be from the 20th of December until the 2nd  of January 1987
