H&D.C.A Highlights
(taken from the minutes):
- Visitors from the Fawley & District Community Association
attended the A.G.M.
- Ernie Hibbs was hired as a gardener.
- Membership of the Community Association was expected to top 700.
- The playgroup still wanted "private toilets for the children.
Also radiator guards to stop the children from "burning" themselves
then the turn the radiators - this is a problem that continues to this
day. Radiator guards were brought.
- "rents" aka "room hire" had been increased
by 24% as the previous year's (1991) increase had been in line
with inflation (~9%) instead of need (presumably above 9%) and
as 1992's inflation was already ~9.3% that would also need
to be added. Outgoings had increased by 6.5% thankfully a lot
below inflation and mostly due to roof repairs and offset by increased
hirings.
- The disco hadn't put it's prices up in a number of years. It
would be increased to £1.20 from November. Crisps would be 19p.
- During the disco at the H&D Parish hall in July, the
clock was "pulled off" the wall. recompense was sort.
- the photocopier made £200 loss but this was mostly due
to having brought two years worth of cheep stock so should balance itself
out by years' end.
- The suggestion of taking over the T&W.C.C.S's (Formerly
just W.C.C.S) Community Buses was made. The decision was proponed.
The T&W.C.C.S were moving out of Hythe (again) having committed
to being more "New Forest" based.
- 39 groups regularly used the Community Centre. The official list
(here) for
this year includes their 1992 group number.
